Radio Park Elementary School

Q1. You wrote about your expectations for the trip before we went.  Now that we have
gone, what was similar to and what was different from your expectations?

A1. I expected children to be active and energetic because they are so young and of an age to like running around. When I met them in class, the first impression of them was that my expectation was correct! I prepared some ways to entertain them, but we didn't need to use for them. The kids were enjoying themselves, even though I didn't try to make a fun! I think that the kids made me happy, rather than we did.

Q2. Compare this elementary school to others you have seen.  What was similar and what was different?

A2. I've hardly seen a elementary school after I grew up, so it is a little bit difficult for me to simply compare the differences. However, I felt that the education style of USA was more free than South Korea. I think that the differences were caused by teaching styles. In the case of Korea, most teachers try to teach important parts of a text book for a limited time. So, teachers have to emphasize memorizing what they think important. However, in the radio park elementary, they were teaching a fun of learning by using entertaining ways like songs and toys.

Q3. What recommendations do you have for IECP students who go on trips like this in
the future?

A3. I want to recommend someone who will go trips should prepare how to react by children's behaviors. If the IECP students exercise how to exclaim to children's motion, I bet that it would be a good way to close their partner kids in a short time.
